Job Description: The Customer Technology Solutions (CTS) organization is responsible for providing MCG customers with the engineering, collateral, tools, services, and support to enable them to ramp high-volume winning products based on MCG products and platforms. Our team is a technical organization with platform, systems, software, and hardware engineers working directly with customers and our development teams to enable and maximize the impact of our technology. We serve as a solutions partner to our customers providing services, including technical evaluations; collateral and tools; hardware; software; systems integration support; and partnering with third-party hardware and software partners to ensure broad success of mobile IA devices.
As a growing organization, the CTS Engineering team is seeking several software engineering candidates with a strong background in Android OS and Linux/kernel, with experience in display, graphics, connectivity, power management, security and/or sensors. The successful candidate will also have strong drivers knowledge and an understanding of HW/SW interfaces. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent communications skills. You must work well both on a team, and on your own. We require a candidate who can quickly bring up a new technology and assess risk in a fast-paced and informal environment. Continuous self-education in media fields as well as software development tools and methodologies will be a key factor in your success in this position. Effectively collaborate with internal and external cross-functional orgs and customers. Highly motivated and self-directed with the ability to work well both independently and as a proactive team member. Interest in learning new areas. Excellent customer communications, interaction and presentation skills. Team work and collaboration.
Qualifications:
Candidates should possess a Bachelor in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with more than 7 years of relevant Linux/Android driver development experience or a Master in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with more than 5 years of relevant Linux/Android driver development experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Platform enabling experience & deep understanding of software stack from FW/BIOS through OS, driver, middleware, codec levels to higher level software frameworks
- Linux/Android driver development experience in Tablet/Smartphone
- Knowledge of PC boards/ CPU Architecture in general and Atom based in particular would be an added value
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Proven verbal and written communication skills
- Self-discipline, self-direction and tolerance of ambiguity
- Dynamic presentation skills
- Working independently as well as in a team setting
- Working across language and/or cultural barriers and time zones with success
- Travel to customer facilities
- Experience working on a customer-focused platform execution team
- Demonstrated development experience with embedded OS environments would be an added advantage
