Location:Hong Kong,China
Purpose of position:
To assist with the advocacy, event planning and fundraising aspects of our work
Duration of position:
6 months (Full-time, January - June 2014)
Responsibilities:
• Organise fundraising events and appeals, securing funding sources and partners
• Research and present on issues for advocacy and fundraising
• Contribute to the development of outreach and marketing materials
• Manage communications and administrative tasks as needed
• Other responsibilities will be based on volunteer skills and interests, and our current needs
Requirements:
Essential:
• Passion for refugee rights
• Strong communication and networking skills
• Well-organised, able to work independently
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Fluent in spoken and written English
Desirable:
• Experience of fundraising and event planning
• Experience in educational outreach programmes
• Fluent in spoken and written Cantonese
This volunteer opportunity provides you with an excellent opportunity to:
• Gain insight into development and advocacy aspects of NGO work and specifically refugee rights
• Make a real impact as a member of our team, by attending staff meetings, and leading and completing set projects
• Network and attend events: Attend training, observe intake interviews, and represent us at donor events

• Get an evaluation of your work and reference at the end of your time with us
