PFC is dedicated to poverty alleviation through the development of the Chinese microfinance industry. It provides technical assistance and consulting services to the microfinance and banking sector and engages in microfinance plus projects with a focus on issues such as rural development, healthcare, renewable energy, and job training.
About the Job:
PFC is seeking a Risk Management Expert. S/he will implement the microfinance robustness program platform activities. The activities include provision of classroom training on risk management to leading MFIs (banks and non banks), provision of on-site technical assistance with a focus on Asia, as well as the development of new risk management tools and guides adapted to the microfinance sector.

PFC is seeking a Risk Management Expert. S/he will implement the microfinance robustness program platform activities. The activities include provision of classroom training on risk management to leading MFIs (banks and non banks), provision of on-site technical assistance with a focus on Asia, as well as the development of new risk management tools and guides adapted to the microfinance sector.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Conduct risk mappings of leading MFIs in Asia to assess their overall level of risks and identify gaps;
- Conduct on-site technical assistance to MFIs to improve various areas including risk management, internal audit, credit scoring, and portfolio risk management;
- Help to design new risk management tools and guides for the microfinance sector incorporating best practices from the banking sector and international guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 7 - 10 years in microfinance and/or financial services;
- Strong expertise or competency in risk management, internal audit, anti-money laundering, internal control, ratings, credit scoring, treasury, compliance, etc.;
- Ability to interact effectively with people of other cultures, capacities, and organizations;
- Strong communication skills and ability to work in a fast paced entrepreneurial culture;
- Proficiency in one of organization’s working languages in Asia is desirable, but not required.
