About the Job:
HOPE International is seeking a Director of Technical Assistance for HOPE China. S/he will provide critical management, technical support, and capacity building to the field leadership of HOPE China's microenterprise program. S/he will report to the managing director of HOPE China. The position is based in Tianjin.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Per instruction from HOPE China’s MD, provide ongoing management support to the positions of finance manager, operations manager, spiritual integration coordinator, and program assistant and HR specialist;
- In coordination with HOPE China’s MD, identify and take lead role in overseeing key stakeholder relationships as identified and agreed to by MD.
- Assist HOPE China senior leadership in the development of strategic and annual business plans for their growth and development, as well as periodic reforecasts and updates;
- In collaboration with MD and HOPE International headquarters’ leadership, provide regular review and evaluation of HOPE China program performance to ensure effective deployment per HOPE International standards;
- Assist country leadership to ensure the timely submission of operational and financial reports required for internal monthly reporting, donors, auditors, and other parties;
- Collaborate with the HOPE International director of compliance to maintain risk matrix within HOPE China to ensure that risk for the organization is minimized;
- Based on ongoing assessment of current product(s) and market innovations, provide recommendations for improvement that allow local office to better realize its mission;
- Assist in the development and implementation of local security plan through collaborating with all appropriate staff to ensure the plan fully encompasses program needs;
- Represent HOPE China’s program to the country advisory board, engaging and supporting board members to facilitate their mission to support and advise the HOPE China program.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or related field;
- More than 2 years of professional experience in microenterprise development, banking or financial services sector;
- Strong organizational skills, including effective time management and prioritization of competing demands/multiple deadlines;
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills;
- Ability to conduct business analysis and prepare recommendations for presentation to senior leadership;
- Professional working proficiency in spoken/written Mandarin. Full professional proficiency in spoken/written English;
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills;
- Experience with other Microsoft Office Suite products;
- Willingness to travel up to 25% of the time.
